It has been a busy time in parish life recently. Friday saw the parish barbecue, enjoyed on a lovely evening by about 45 people. There were games organised the scouts and everyone had a good time. Look out for the next social event - the parish picnic on Sunday September 7th in the church grounds.
Today was the 11th Sunday of the Year looking at the call of the apostles. The children came back from their liturgy with a big poster of all the disciples, while Deacon John read a consultants' mock report of whether the apostles would ever be recruited by a business. Some of them would clearly struggle on The Apprentice!
After mass, Father Ted drew the winning tickets in the Holiday Club twice-yearly draw. Gisela Blee won £1,000, Margaret Butler £150 and Marie Cleaver £50. Congratulations to them.
Parishioner Ann O'Callaghan is taking part in the Race for Life on Wednesday July 9th and is holding a cake sale after mass next weekend. Come along and sponsor her and buy a cake.
There are still spaces left on the UCM trip to Walsingham on Tuesday July 1st.
Plus, a new venture. Kate Browning is organising a creche for toddlers at Sunday Mass. Call her on 819131 if you could help.
