Today we had a visit from Father Joe. No, not former parish priest Father Joe Mullen, but Father Joe from St Marie's Parish who was standing in for Father Ted.
Glorious sunshine greeted us this morning and it was a joyful celebration of the Mass together, including the rousing finale The Kingdom of Heaven.
There was a collection for the suffering people of Burma and China. This money will be sent to Cafod. Last week's Mission Appeal for Sierra Leone raised £500.
Parishioners were reminded that the parish barbecue takes place this Friday night (13th) at 7pm - come wind, rain or shine! Last year, the event was very well supported, even though it poured with rain. This time, the scouts will be helping out by organising games on the church lawns.
There were prayers today for the wife of Deacon John Burrows who is unwell. Please remember her in the your prayers this week.
