Ahoy there me hearties! It's Sea Sunday and today we had special prayers for those who work at sea. We also had the traditional singing of Eternal Father, Strong to Save.
It's nearly the summer holidays for those with children of a school age. Some have already broken up, while others - such as Father Ted - are already enjoying their holidays. Today, for the second week running, Father Joe from St Marie's was very welcome to take our service.
At the end, he paid tribute to the parish and said how much enjoyed being in a parish where so many lay people were involved - whether it was reading, serving or being part of the music group. It is always good to get some feedback about the parish.
A UCM tea and cakes evening happens on Thursday September 11th, not long after the parish picnic on September 7th. Information is needed on the people on the parish sick list. Please call the presbytery if you wish to have your named removed.
